After a long artistic break, Wilhelm Webels started to paint again in 1955. In 1956 he moved from the brush to the palette-knife-technique which he used up until his death in 1972. In this period, the artist created around 900 paintings with acrylics and oil. Man is the undesputed protagonist of his paintings and of all his art. His works are not intended to hide the transience and the difficulties of our life. Many of his works represent aspects of real life that influenced his personal life, such as work, enviroment, the Two World Wars and all its consequences. However, what is common to all these works is that who dedicates himself to a single artwork in a very intense way, undoubtedly remains magically attracted to it.
